Partnered by Class of 92, Lancaster University, Microsoft, Trafford Council, Trafford College and Bruntwood, the plans include a new sports centre and student accommodation in the centre of Stretford.

Stockport College and Trafford College to Merge
Trafford College and Stockport College have announced plans to merge. There will be a short consultation.
Both colleges will keep their existing names and campuses, with Stockport on Wellington Road South, and Trafford on Manchester Road, Timperley.
The merger is seen as making them both more sustainable.

The 'miracle pill': how cycling could save the NHS
There is a credible argument that encouraging bike use to Dutch or Danish levels could do more than perhaps any other single intervention to save the NHS from collapse. It could even greatly mitigate the crisis in adult social care.
A study in the Lancet put the global toll for inactive lifestyles at around 5.3 million people a year, about the same as from tobacco.
GuardianLidl to open new store in Gorse Hill
Lidl has announced plans for a new store in Stretford. The supermarket will be placed at the former PC World unit in Chester Road.
The multi-million pound investment, will see Lidl commit to building a sustainable 1,363m² store with plans to create up to 40 new jobs. The store will include state of the art facilities such as: an in-store bakery, longer-style tills with dual packing facilities, customer toilets and ample parking for both cars and bicycles.
